Method 1: Install Windows 11 24H2 Using Windows Update
- Right-click the Start menu, select Settings, or press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Navigate to Windows Update and ensure the Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available toggle is active.
- Recheck for updates. If available, click Download & Install and reboot your PC when prompted.
Windows 11 24H2 is rolling out in stages, so availability may vary by region and device. If you don’t see the update, it may not yet be available for your system.
Method 2: Upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 Using the Installation Assistant
- Use the PC Health Check app to verify that your system meets the minimum requirements.
- Visit the official Windows 11 download page and click Download Now under Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
- Run the Windows11InstallationAssistant.exe file. If needed, install PC Health Check and confirm system compatibility.
- Restart the Installation Assistant, accept the terms, and proceed with the upgrade.
- Follow the on-screen steps, and when prompted, reboot your PC.
During installation, Microsoft will automatically restart your computer 30 minutes after completion. Be sure to save your work beforehand.
Method 3: Clean Install Windows 11 24H2
Microsoft has also released ISO files for the update, allowing for a fresh installation.
- Download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO from the official Microsoft Download Windows 11 page or Media Creation Tool.
- Create Windows 11 24H2 installation media.
- Install Windows 11 24H2 following the provided instructions.
After installation, verify the update by right-clicking the Start menu, selecting Run, typing winver, and pressing Enter. The version should read 24H2, with Build 26100 installed.
