Method 3: Using Automatic Repair
Windows 10 automatically boots into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) if Windows fails to start three times consecutively. This can be used to access Safe Mode.
- Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device, then turn it back on.
- When you see the Windows logo or manufacturer’s logo, hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device again. Repeat this process until your device boots into Automatic Repair.
- Select Advanced Options to enter WinRE.
- At the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After restarting, select 4 or F4 for Safe Mode, or 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
Exiting Safe Mode
To exit Safe Mode and return to normal mode, simply restart your device. If it continues booting into Safe Mode, follow these steps:
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type msconfig and click OK.
- Go to the Boot tab and uncheck the Safe boot checkbox.
- Click Apply and OK, then restart your computer.
And there you have it! Safe Mode is now within your reach.
