How To Enable / Disable Memory Speed Profile XMP / EXPO in BIOS

In this guide, we’ll walk through the steps to enable or disable memory speed profiles like XMP or EXPO in your computer's BIOS. Although this example uses an Asus ROG Motherboard, these steps should guide you for similar options on other systems.

To start, restart your computer and enter the BIOS. If you’re unsure which key to press, our guide on ‘How To Enter BIOS or UEFI by Manufacturer’ might help.

Once in the BIOS, some motherboards allow you to enable or disable Memory Speed Profile directly from the easy mode view. Let's explore an alternate method as well:

  • Switch to Advanced Mode: If you're in easy mode, click ‘Advanced Mode’ or press F7.
  • Navigate to Ai Tweaker: Head to the Ai Tweaker tab. Look for settings like Ai Overclock Tuner, Load XMP Setting, Memory Profiles, Extreme Memory Profile, or DRAM Profile Configuration.
  • Enable/Disable Profile: Ensure the Ai Overclock Tuner is set to A-XMP / XMP / EXPO / DOCP Profile or Profile 1. You can enable or disable it according to your preference.
  • Save and Exit: Save the changes by going to the Exit tab, clicking ‘Save Changes and Reset,’ or pressing F10.

Following these steps should help you optimize your system’s memory performance. Stay tuned for more tech tips to help you get the most out of your hardware!
