How To Bypass Microsoft Online Account During Windows 11 Installation

If you'd prefer to create an offline account, also known as a local account, during the Windows 11 installation, follow these steps:

Open Command Prompt:

  • When you reach the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) screen, press Shift + F10 to open the Command Prompt.

Disable Internet Connection:

  • In the Command Prompt, type ncpa.cpl and press Enter to open Network Connections.
  • Right-click your Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection and select Disable to disconnect your PC from the internet.

Enter the Bypass Command:

  • In the Command Prompt, type oobe\bypassNRO and press Enter. Your PC will restart.

Continue with Setup:

  • After restarting, select your country and keyboard layout again.
  • A new option, "I don’t have Internet", will appear. Click on it, then choose "Continue with limited setup".
  • Proceed with the Windows installation.

Re-enable Internet Connection:

  • Once you reach the Windows desktop, press Windows key + R to open Run.
  • Type ncpa.cpl and press Enter to open Network Connections again.
  • Right-click your Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection and select Enable to reconnect to the internet.
